Couldn’t
They couldn’t love him more,
and it is so beautiful to see.
Caring for him through the night,
teaching, nurturing, nudging
as he grows before their eyes.
Each day another milestone
for mother, father and child.
They wouldn’t trade it for anything,
so much more than they could dream.
The couldn’t love him more,
but one day they will,
the day he no longer needs them,
the day they set him free.
