Comfortable Clothes*
Jesus wore comfortable clothes…
sandals,
a loose-fitting tunic,
a beard,
a smile,
an uninhibited sense of humor,
an aura of love, acceptance, and peace,
an ease with kindness, generosity, and intimacy.
Dear Lord, let your loving presence
be at home in me …
warm like the sun on my skin,
bright like a full moon on a clear black night,
gentle as a kiss on the palm,
fertile as dark soil,
and sweet as the most fragrant flowers.
Let others encounter your loving presence
through me.
Let me be and do in harmony with you
each moment this day.
Reflection and Prayer
The more that we come to know Jesus, the more that we will fall in love with him. Quiet yourself and ask Jesus to reveal to you something that you did not previously know about him. Perhaps you could ask him a question and wait for a response, or maybe he will tell you a story about when he was a child or during his public ministry years that is not recorded in the Gospels. Be patient and open. Let your friendship with Jesus deepen. Close your prayer by sharing with Jesus what is on your heart and receiving from him what is on his heart.
