The Rejection at Nazareth
Luke 4:24-30
Vicarious Gratitude
A life of ministry is sometimes a chorus of voices…
“Thank you for doing this, but it’s not for me.
What you are doing is important, but it’s not for me.
You clearly have a call, but it’s not for me.
You are such a devoted, holy person, but it’s not for me.
I admire your commitment, but it’s not for me.
You are an inspiration, but it’s not for me.”
And then one person shows up, opens up
to you and to the Divine, and it’s worth it.
Everything and all of it is absolutely worth it,
for one person to know and be known
by the Divine even a little bit more.
