The Work of the Son
John 5:17-30
Nonetheless
Quiet assurance is nonetheless quiet,
silent, still,
unaffected by me or whatever I may do (or not).
God, you are so close, so ever-present
yet as distant as the stars,
inescapable yet why would I ever
want to move at all from you?
To pray always evolves into a state of empty grace,
so open as to no longer seek,
wanting only to give, to give away,
to give to others…
the witness, the encouragement
that whatever they may see you have gifted to me,
you are nonetheless offering completely to them.
