Firefly Buddy
I want to be a firefly buddy with Jesus.
One among too many to count
letting the light of God flow through them,
and without that light, invisible, non-existent.
Even one flicker on one evening is so precious,
glorious.
I would give up everything
to love like that.

Reflection and Prayer
Ask God to reveal to you a time when the divine light of love flowed through you. Send some time reliving that experience and receiving that grace more deeply. Pay attention to how it makes you feel and how it animates your heart. Then welcome Jesus to be with you. Tell him about your experience and how it makes you feel. Then listen to him as he describes how your cooperating with the diving light makes him feel. What word, image or color captures this experience?
